Taking the Ohayami Bus from Manila to Banaue Rice Terraces

I recently accompanied some friends in their vacation / holiday trip to a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Banaue (alternatively spelled Banawe) Rice Terraces located in the Ifugao Province.

So, I picked up my friends from the Ninoy International Airport and we went to the Ohayami Bus Terminal located at Lacson Avenue, Corner Fajardo Street, Sampaloc, Manila. Below is a sketch or photo as to where Ohayami Transportation Bus Terminal is located as well as their daily bus trip schedules.

Ohayami Bus Schedule of Daily Trips

Banaue - Manila = 7:00 p.m.
Lagawe - Manila = 8:00 p.m.
Manila to Banaue = 9:00 p.m.
Manila to Banaue = 10:00 p.m.
Manila to Banaue = Kiangan = 10:00 p.m.

Banaue to Baguio = 5:00 p.m.
Lagawe to Baguio - 6:00 p.m.
Banaue to Baguio - 6:30 a.m.
Baguio to Banaue = 8:00 and 9:00 P.M.
Baguio to Banaue - 8:00 a.m.

NOTE: These daily bus trip schedules as reflected in the above Ohayami Bus Terminal tarpuline poster were not exactly followed. In fact, when we arrived at the Ohayami Bus Terminal to catch the Manila to Banaue 9:00 p.m. bus schedule we were told instead that this bus would be leaving two (2) hours late or at around 11:00 p.m..

We were left with nothing to do but go crazy over this Ohayami poster below which have this reads:

"Before the departure time.** Bring extra clothing or travelling blankets since the aircon may be strong."

(Hehehee...some of my foreigner friends were complaining and reacting violently on the "aircon may be strong" phrase...I can't think of a better way of saying it myself though...can you?)

No kidding about how "the aircon may be strong" phrase...the Ohayami bus unit which took us from Manila to Banaue was really "strong". (Hehehe) It was a good thing that my friends loaned me a beanie, thick jacket and a blanket. I have to admit though my feet were numb from the cold inside the bus. So if you are thinking of travelling from Manila to Banaue with Ohayami buses "** Bring extra clothing or travelling blankets since the aircon may be strong."

Again, hope this helps and Godspeed!
