Scenes from the Banaue Bus-Jeepney-Van Terminal

When our Ohayami Bus arrived from Manila to Banaue, we did not immediately went to its different rice terraces but enjoyed the breathtaking scenes of the little Banaue town rising from her sleep in the early morning.

Some of the foreigners with us checking out the scenes and talking about what to do next from the bus, jeepney and van terminal above the Banaue town.

Banaue Breathtaking!

Me standing at the Banaue Bus, Jeepney, Van and Motorcycle Terminal.

From the Banaue bus, jeepney and van terminal or parking area you can already see the Banaue Public Market (building on the left with green roof) and the Banaue Fire Station (right side)

Here you can also see the Banaue Barangay Poblacion Barangay Hall (left side with green roof).

This is the steep stairs that we had to climb down  from the terminal platform on top to get to the Banaue town proper. It has around 30 steps or so. We had to be careful in going down these stairs as its steps are usually wet not just from the rain at that time of the year but because, we were told that, the fog and condensation in the early morning usually leaves these stair steps damp or really wet.  To our surprise, some even actually left their slippers behind (yeah! weird isn't it?) and go barefoot! Hehehe. Well, notice the white-pink slippers in the lower right corner of the picture above?

Recently, I was told by some friends that the Banaue stairs have been "improved" to be more welcoming to tourists...well, I hope so. Numerous accidents have already been recorded in these steep banaue stairs with tourists, who are still groggy from their bus rides, as the usual victims.

If you do not want to climb down these stairs, you can ask some motorcycles to transport you from the terminal above. Although at that time, we were forced to really take the stairs!
